Hi everyone. I just got my brand new sony vaio sa3 today and it refuses to boot up already! Every time I try to start up, it just sits there with a black screen and a blinking underscore on the top left screen of the computer. Also, when I was uninstalling bloatware and installing my usual programs, the computer crashed with a blue screen that displayed an unknown error. I didn't think too much of it at the time, so I forgot the error code :(. It was like c000189 - something. The last thing I did before the black screen underscore issue was install a driver for a ps3 controller using Motionjoy. I don't think that would cause my computer to be in the state it is though. I am still able to use the function where the laptop boots up only to a web browser. I am unable to press any of the F# buttons as its booting up. I got this from newegg so returning it is pretty much out of the question. I'm just looking for any suggestions at this point. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd just hate to send this in for service after only 4 hours of use! But that seems to be where it's heading to right now.

to fix your black screen issue... have you tried removing the dvd from the drive?
