When I start up my laptop and it gets all started up. (it starts up great) it loads a couple things, then the screen blinks black once then it finishes loading everything.

any clue as to why? any way to fix this? anyone else experience this?

Mine does it too. Kind of annoying, Intel has updated x3100 drivers available that fix the problem from what I understand, but of course Sony has been slow to release them on the esupport site.

I have it too, so it's not an intel driver issue. I have the nvidia card.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem with mine too. At first I thought it had to do with the refresh rate so I check and it was selected at 59 hz. I changed it to 60 and it fixed it for a couple hours, but it's back again. It's not that big of a deal, but it does get annoying.

Huh? We are talking about a single blink at startup. Are you talking about the same thing???

Yeah, sorry my mistake. I'm having the single blink at startup too but since I put my computer to sleep quite often after 1-2 hours of use, it happens every time I start it back up. It was happening so often that I didn't even realize it was only occurring during the start up. It hasn't happened at any other time now that I think about it.
