    Blu-ray Disc RW or Blu-ray Read Only Drive?

    I gonna buy a FW but i don't know which Drive i should choose, Blu-ray Disc RW or Blu-ray Read Only Drive. And can they burn normal DVDs or Bluray Discs only.

    I think you should answer the first question yourself, depending on whether you plan to burn any BDs. For instance, do you do any HD video editing/authoring? Do you want to backup your BDs? Do you have another BD writer (for instance in your desktop machine) which might be faster than a laptop drive?

    If you only need to play back BDs e.g. movies bought via retail, you have no need to burn BDs unless you want to use this media for backups (which is expensive!).

    Anyway, they can burn normal DVDs - yes - but some caveats may apply (e.g. some BD burners can't write to dual layer DVDs).

    For me it's a simple math problem, a BD 50g disk is about 15-20 dollars. S0 10 BD will cost you somewhere between 150 to 200. A external 500g hard drive on sale could easily be under 100...so personally BD burner just way out of date and costly for me.
