Will the Sony Vaio VGN-FW390 Blu-ray Disc read only drive read actual information discs? Not DVDs, but actual CDs?

I am not cleared by your question.
If it is R/W Blu-ray, It will Read all discs and Write almost discs, probably NOT DVD DL.
If it is Read Only Blu-ray, it will Read all discs and Write all except of course BD

R/W 12.7mm Blu-ray drive from FW series write DVD DL disc. Only the slimmer 9.5mm Blu-ray drive from the Z series can't write DVD DL disc.

So the Sony Vaio VGN-FW390 "Blu-ray read only drive" will read regular info disks and DVDs?
