    Hi!

New to this part of the forum (Sony).
I am intending to buy HP Pavilion HDX, which includes HD DVD, but I have no use of HD DVD. Instead, I can make a good use of BD drive. So, I am planning to swap HD DVD with BD as soon as I get the laptop.

My question: Where can I get a BD drive spare part for Sony VAIO (maybe from type VAIO AR)?
Will it work in my future laptop (it support HDCP, BTW)?

    Thanks

Laptop drives are usually not interchangeable like desktop drives are. Even if you could get it to physically fit, I have my doubts about it actually functioning properly.

You're opening up a can of worms there. I'm not sure that that would be possible.

If you are hell bent on getting a blue ray drive, then better opt for a Sony Vaio or Dell Inspiron that has one.

I am currently considering VAIO AR41 as my second option. If it is not possible to swap, and HP has not provided BD drive in one of its laptop, then so be it, I'll purchase Vaio Ar41. I'm still hoping it is possible.
