It shows Blue screen while booting xp cd to install Xp SP2 in Sony vaio VPCEB14EN. I tried different CD s,different versions and also both 32 & 64bit ver. Always getting some Blue screeen. Google and found changing SATA to ATA in bios would help. But couldn't find such settings in my laptop.
    Anyone knows the solution.

You need to "slipstream" the SATA drivers onto your installation disk. There's a free program called nLite that does just this. It will rip the files from your isntallation cd, allow you to add the SATA drivers of your choosing, and then allow you to burn the installation back to disc. I've had success with this installing XP SP3 on my VAIO F, after a few misses trying to get the right driver installed.

Thanks for the reply. Xp is not working properly. Its very slow and shutdown also takes more time. Also, my USB tv tunner card is not working though I installed the correct drivers for the tunner.

Ah, I understand. Startup and Shutdown are slow. Does your TV tuner only work in full screen? XP mode cannot do full screen overlays. :(

Have you tried the slipstream yet?

I used Nlite to integrate the drivers. But identifying correct driver was little bit hard.
And the tv tunner card software just hangs when i plugin my USB tunner card(both in xp 32 bit and 64bit ver). But works fine in Win 7. Actually, in many forums,I saw that people faced problem in Win 7 for that Tv tunner(Intex USB 2.0 TV tunner). But in my case, its reverse. Now, I'm using two Win 7, one for me and another for one trail ver software. Will this make any problem? Like any hardware issues in future for using two Windows 7(one in C driver and another in D driver)?

Wait, did you get XP to successfully install? That means you got the right SATA driver. The USB TV Tuner driver is something that you'd install once XP is up and running.

Yes. I installed Xp successfully. After trying many times, found the correct driver for my laptop. But its waste now. TV Tunner card is not working. That trial software I mentioned earlier(BI tool) made Xp a dead slow machine. Always shutdown hangs. So Now I am not using Xp. Now using two Windows 7.
