One of the drawbacks of the SZ is definitely the lack of documentation -- in this case, with regards to the Bluetooth feature.

For weeks the bluetooth has turned itself off just after startup, with the audible "usb unplugged" sound. I checked out some of the software installed that seemed to correspond to it, but none of it actually turned the bluetooth back on. Since I had no plans to actually use it, this wasn't an urgent thing for me to research.

Now, however, it's on, staying on, and draining power, after powering up, whether I want it to or not. I did nothing to change things on my side, but there it is. It should not be this difficult to toggle on and off, surely, but I'm finding no location to shut it down. I vaguely remember someone saying it was in the Wireless setting, but I'm not finding anything there either.

    Anyone?? Thanks!

Double click the litle green LAN icon on your lower-right taskbar area.

Well, this will sound stupid, but there is no such icon on my taskbar. There's the wireless connection icon (small single computer) and the Intel PROset/Wireless icon (white, upside down triangle). I've been through the settings on both without finding bluetooth controls.

Hi. Just wondering if anyone has solved this problem. I just purchased a SZ120 and my bluetooth has turned itself on as well. I have reformatted the laptop 3 times each time it does the same thing all on it's own. I also has a little green icon in the task bar that allowed for the toggleing of the bluetooth and wireless radios . It has just disappeared when the bluetooth turned itself on and left me with a "blue" colored bluetooth icon which upon opening does now offer any options to turn the bluetooth off. The bluetooth does go off when I manually toggle the hardare switch off (as does my wifi). The little green icon is an app called wireless switching app located in the sony folder but executing this app does nothing. I am quite frustrated with this and would love for someone to be able to tell me how to turn off my bluetooth while leaving my wifi on. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.
