First of all, my specs:
SVS15113FXS
640m LE (1GB)
2.5 GHZ Intel i5-3210M
6GB RAM
Just did a fresh install of Win 7 x64 Ult following this guide.
I've done this before when I first installed a Momentus XT and everything worked like a charm. After a few months, I started having a strange stuttering problem and after several days I deduced that it might be the hard drive, especially after reinstalling (again) did nothing to alleviate the issue. So, I decided to revert to the Samsung Momentus 640gb 5400RPM drive that came with the computer. I wiped it clean, and proceeded to install windows, again following the same guide.
After installing all the components, during windows updates, I got stuck a few times while trying to shut down the computer. I had to hold in the power button on a couple different occasions to get it top turn off. The bluetooth icon in the tray never showed up, it wasn't listed at all in the device manager, it wasn't listed in the window with adapters (where LAN and wireless adapters and are located)... I'm not sure why this is. I also had some odd lockups when I was downloading things in the background, when I tried registering a free edition of avast!, when I tried to close other freezing programs using task manager (even task manager stopped responding sometimes)! These freeze ups occurred both during and after windows finished updating itself. I also noticed that some of the failed updates had been successfully installed in the log afterwards, but I was not about to spend an hour verifying each failed update was installed.
Was I trying to do too much at once for the slow 5400 drive? I decided not to take any chances on corrupt updates, not knowing which were only "sort of" installed and just decided to take things slower the next time around just in case. I'm currently updating automatically this time, but bluetooth hasn't showed up after doing all the driver installs listed in the guide. I'm not confident that it will show up even after Windows updates at this point. Anyone know what's going on? Why can't I find any evidence of the Bluetooth on the machine? Would having disabling the bluetooth adapter on my previous drive/installation before reinstalling on a different drive (via right click -> disable in the adapters window) have something to do with it? I'm thinking maybe since it was disabled, at a hardware level it never showed up even with drivers being installed on a different hard drive, but my own logic here seems far fetched.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Did some research. A lot of inconclusive stuff, but when I updated my BIOS from R0142C5 to one of Amal77's R0143C5, the problem fixed itself on reboot. *shrug*
Bluetooth issue - can't find it in Windows 7 (SVS15113FXS)
