I'm sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere on this board, but I did not seem to find any threads.
Anyone else having a X-25 SSD in their Z ?
On vista Business i get a boot time of 38 secs.
So my question is: can I do anything to make it faster? - or is it the best this drive can do under vista?
Any answers will be much appreciated!![]()
(the x-25 is on latest firmware, 8820)

Is it just me, or anyone else also thinks that 38 sec for the x25 is a little slow?
With the factory installed 7,200 rpm Hitachi 320g drive in my Z, I'm getting 40-50 sec for Windows 7 RC, and a minute 10- 20 for Vista home premium (factory set up with all the bloatwares).
I think I read it somewhere in the forum that some people are getting 20 sec with their SSDs. But that's probably a bare bone system with everything disabled. -
well.. I think it's pretty fast for such a demaning OS as vista..
I would just like to know if there was anything I could do to make it faster.
My OS setup is pretty clean - no bloatware at all. -
Some people count the BIOS time, while others don't. Some only measure the time until they get the login screen, others count until the desktop has loaded and the icons displayed, and yet others until everything has started and the mouse pointer no longer is a "partially busy" pointer.
And, some people disable networking to avoid counting the time it takes to get a DHCP lease.
Unless people specify just WHAT they mean by boot time, the number is pretty much worthless. -
I can boot in 30 secs from a first gen Samsung 128 GB SSD in vista including all the sony bloatware.
On my TZ with 32 GB SSD I can boat Windows 7 in 30 sec -
Just measured my bootup time again with wifi on, bluetooth on, finger print security on.
With the factory installed Hitachi 7k300 on a fully functional Windows 7(with all the keyboard fn shortcuts working), it took my Z 43 seconds to boot up from the press of the power button to the mouse curser "no longer is a "partially busy" pointer" with all my 4 screen gadgets fully loaded. Just to note that the 43 seconds ALSO include the time it took for the windows login to identify my finger print.
