I find this hard to believe but this site shows 4 rebates through Office Depot totaling $850 - which brings the price of the S260 down to $1,250. Has anyone seen this or looked into it (or taken advantage of it?) Just seems to good to be true - $1,250 for a new S260?? I wish I had an Office Depot in my town to inquire about this in person! Maybe I'm make a call and see what I can find out. If this ends up being legit (being able to use all four rebates together) this is a no brainer - even for someone who wasn't really in the market for a new laptop!

Well, I just called Office Depot and the only rebate they have is $200 (off of their price of $2,099). I guess someone just made these rebates up - I knew it had to be too good to be true. Oh well :tud2

hi,
they have $500 rebate you can check it on their website. If you can;t get $850, I gues you can compromise on $500. But you have to rush as it will end on 6/11 as it states in the rebates website. -
I just checked their website and don't see the $500 rebate. Can you provide a link - I would greatly appreciate it! Even with $500, that would still probably be enough to get me to buy one of these suckers. $1,600 for a brand new S260 - not bad at all. Except I believe that it doesn't include the XBRITE display, from what I can tell.

The $500 rebate is legitimate. In fact, the total of $850 in rebates is legitimate. I picked up an S260 yesterday at my local Office Depot and the $850 in rebates is even advertised on the shelf, but *not* in the national flyer.
As for the rebate form, you can find the links to all of them in the fatwallet thread. Note that they are linked directly from the rebate processing group (Express Group).
And yes, I can verify the display is XBrite. In fact, all S260s are XBrite. I have no idea why Office Depot is clearancing these out, since they're still $2000+ everywhere else. The only thing I can think of is a new impending model from Sony. -
Doc - so you got the S260 for $1,250??? Holy sh!t, if that's true and what you're saying is legit, then I'm taking a road trip this weekend to get one. The closest Office Depot is about an hour away, but with this deal, man that's worth it!

One other question, 'cause I'm thinking about taking a trip to St. Louis tomorrow to get one. Did you have to print out the rebates on-line and bring them in? Just wondering what I need to do so that everything goes smoothly at the store. Interesting thing is that the Office Depot store I called today in Padukah, KY didn't know anything about the rebates (other than a $200 one). I spoke with the manager about this and she said she would look into it for me but they didn't have anything in their system besides $200.

Orange:
You'll have to pay $2099 + tax at time of purchase. Then, send in all rebate forms and your total will be $1250 + tax on the original price of $2099.
One word of caution: The rebates are only good for in-store purchases. Web orders don't count. So, the best bet is to call up your local Office Depot, see if they have any in stock, and then reserve it for you until you can go pick it up. If you're lucky enough to still have some local stores with stock, this is definitely the way to go. Also, most Office Depot managers are clueless on the rebates, just purchase it and print out the rebate forms off the web and send them in. Be sure to make copies of everything, just in case.
Good luck! Let us know if you get one. Fatwallet is an incredibly popular website and people have been scouring across the country for this great deal. You'll notice in the fatwallet thread that many individuals have already reported depleted store stock. This is *by far* the best laptop deal of 2004, and many scalpers have gone so far as to flip these on ebay for an easy profit.
I love mine! -
Darn, I think they took off the 2 coupons (a $150 and the $500 that add to $650) that expire today. I wonder if somebody still have the image files of the two coupons to share with other since they are supposed to expire at the end of today rather than the start of today (The coupons for T150 are still there).
Oh well, I guess since the nearest OD is 2 hr drive and I already have an S170, I don't really need that deal anyway. Good luck to all the people trying to get the rebates. -
OMG I hate you all! =[
