Hay Guys,
I just bought this awesome sony vaio with windows vista home premium installed on it. I have only one problem with it and that is when i hit
Shift + " it does not display anything until i hit the " button again and then i get the characters "" coming up. If i hit Shift + " but instead of hitting " again i hit say "a" i get the character ä![]()
Would anyone please be able to help with this problem as it is really beginning to annoy methanks.

It sounds like your Vista is set up to use the United States International Keyboard. I have my SZ160 set up with United States International under XP to make it easy to use accented characters in non-English languages. You probably want to use the US standard keyboard instead of the US International one if you do not need to use accented characters.
Although I do not know if the procedure is the same in Vista, in XP you can go to Start -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages tab -> Text services and input languages -> Details -> Installed Services -> Add -> Keyboard layout/IME -> then choose the US keyboard and press OK. You should then make US the primary keyboard under "Installed Services". If you wish, you may delete the United States-International keyboard. -
