I briefly saw the Z today at my local computer store, and here's a quick summary of what I noticed about it compared to the SR. I've been trying to decide between both of them and couldn't decide, but when I saw the Z today, it made my decision very easy. Sorry, I didn't have a camera with me at the time.

    1. The display was a TZ next to a Z next to an SR
    2. The Z seemed a lot more like the TZ than the SR. It just plain felt much smaller than the SR
    3. The screen was absolutely beautiful. It is in a league of its own. It was more like the TZ than the SR. It made the SR's screen look pretty bad.
    4. There was no flex whatsoever in the body of the laptop. It felt exceedingly light, but very very strong. The SR felt relatively heavy in comparison. There was a lot of flex in the screen, but it seemed intended because the screen is incredibly thin.
    5. The speed-stamina switch requires all programs to be closed first
    6. The keyboard felt very nice to type on, but it wasn't anything special
    7. Overall, it's just an amazing laptop
    8. Didn't check viewing angles or the like; sorry, but I was in a bit of a rush

Where are you located? What stores are stocking the Z's now? I really want to see them in person to compare 1600x900 to 1366x768.

I saw it at a Micro Center. I'm not sure where Micro Center is and isn't, but I can guarantee you the Z's are getting around. I saw the 1366x768 one and it still looked darn good. I feel like after seeing it that, at that size, 1600x900 really isn't beneficial

Nearest Micro Center to me (in NC) is Fairfax, VA--not very close. I'm hoping Best Buy or Tiger Direct will be getting the Z's in soon.

Unfortunately, there are no SonyStyle stores near me. I'm gonna have to rely on Best Buy, etc. and hope they get both screen resolutions.
