By this time tomorrow, I ought to be in possession of a Vaio VPC SA3AFX with a busted screen [from a member here]. I have found a few reasonably priced HD+ 1600x900 models online, but am curious...are there any compatible FHD 1920x1080 screens?

I am interested to hear someone more intelligent than I comment on replacement options - anything out there?

Buy the orignal FHD 1920x1080, I am assuming it's the LG screen, for like $90 with 3 year warranty. Also some of the aftermarket screens may not work, because sony uses 15.5" and not 15.6" and the board on the screen needs to be flashed correctly from factory to recevice the correct video signal, my 2 cents.

I'd suggest you open it and get the correct part # and order the correct screen, save yourself the headache from the start.

Also it's pointless to put a FHD screen in a laptop that is designed for HD+ unless the video card will support the FHD resolutions or you'll still get 1600x900 maximum.

So check the video card and motherboard, do you have the switchable graphics, AMD and intel or just intel HD 3000 graphics?

Condescending connotations do not really help the matter. Also, it's a 13" laptop. I have no interested in getting the correct part number and getting the correct screen as you put it. I am looking to see if there is a FHD alternative for this model.

The only thing has been discussed here is IPS screen for your laptop. However, it is still HD+.
