How do I work the built-in microphone on an SZ? I have an SZ140 and I'm convinced it doesn't have this feature.

    do you have the camera?
if not, then I don't think you have a built in mic.

Worked fine with Skype on my SZ160. If you're not using automated software that handles audio settings, then remember to go into volume properties -> recording and make sure the microphone is selected to record from and the volume level is at an acceptable level.

I wonder if anybody is experiencing the same thing as me.

If I start the Volume Control Application
(In Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment)

If i activate the build-in microphone I get a huge larsen effect, it only becomes bearable if I move the Microphone Volume to 2 (out of 7).

Do **not** unmute or raise the microphone "playback" level unless you are using headphones. Instead, you need to check the volume level and selection status under "recording" settings (see Options -> Properties).

However the fact that you're hearing what you're hearing indicates that it's working fine.
