I am wanting an FZ laptop, but recently read that the FZ2's are coming out. Not sure what the changes are, but would it be worthwhile to wait?

There isn't much of a difference besides faster processors and a bigger hard drive option I think.

From what I've seen, price vs. performance wouldn't really make it worth it to wait.

I thnk the FZ2's will come with T7500 processors and 250 GB HDDs, compared to the T7300 processor and 200GB HDD in today's FZ models. However the FZ2's may not come out until mid 2008. Price will be slightly greater than what it is of the current FZ models.

FZ2's will also be available with the new T7250 processor, so they could be coming next month.

Amazon has the FZ280E on preorder for $1849 available on Sept. 28th. The FZ240N will be $1449 on Sept. 16th, and FZ220E will be 1199 on Oct. 21st.

    Hope that helps.

Does anyone know how the GPU will be configured? on this new line ?

For example i would like an 8400 GT with 256 dedicated , but without blue-ray.

In the Uk if you want 256 dedicated VRAM sony "forces" you to buy the one with blueray which is 600$ more than the 128 dedicated.

I hate how in europe sony doesnt let you customize your vaio. YOU PAY for it right? so should have the freedom of choice.

Any thoughts on when this new line will arrive to europe?

    Cheers,
