    Hi,
I am going to buy sony vaio duo 13 and i noticed there are some configurations that are almost the same but has 800$ between them.

There is one thing though that bother me :

The spec i want to buy have no nfc and no wwan and 256GB SSD

the pricey spec has nfc and wwan and 512GB SSD.

(I know diffrent between the size of SSD, 256 compare it 512, is 450$)

my questions is - what is this WWAN and how does NFC should help me in life .

    Thanks for help !

Wireless Wide Area Network just basically means in this case that you can connect your Duo to Internet by using 3G or 4G LTE simcard which I believe in some countries like US, UK, Japan etc... is restricted to use a certain operator that probably is being mentioned in the specs of your computer.

NFC enables possibility to transfer seamlessly information and data for example between your Duo and a smartphone like pictures, or contact information.

However at the moment it seems that the NFC capabilities are rather limited and mainly pointing towards having a Sony Xperia smarphone. In the future its likely to have more functions enabled but I have no idea of the time-frame.

At the moment personally I care more about the WWAN but you could also use your smartphone or external WWAN device, although it means carrying more stuff in your bag and depending on the battery of the phone.

I like to have all electronics as fully functional separate device, however that is just a matter of taste.
