Buzzing sound from display on FW 590?

Hi everyone. I just got my FW 590 CTO a week ago, and two days after I got it I noticed a buzzing sound coming from the display when the brightness is set to anything other than maximum. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if it is worth sending back to Sony to fix. Thank you for any advice.

 

Have my FW285 set to about 1/2 or a bit brighter normally (for almost 14 months now) no buzzing/noise at all. Suggest, call and have them look into it.

 

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. When I dim the display it starts to hum. It changes the frequency as I change the brightness. It is noticable only when in a quiet place, at first I thaught its fan noise. Also when the pc is booting the display makes high-pitched noise.

 

I also get that humming sounds SOMETIMES. It's usually after the screen turns off and it turns on again and if it's on low brightness. But it's usually humming for a few seconds, then goes away.

 

I am receiving the same buzzing. With brightness @ 100% it does not occur but anything less it buzzes. It has been present since we received the our FW 590 in early December 2009. Sony Tech Support has recommended a system recovery to restore the software back to factory settings. I had discussed with them that it has been there since it was received.

Has anyone tried the system recovery and restored the laptop to factory settings?

 

I am afraid that the system recovery will not help since the buzzing is hardware issue. This problem is quite common with larger desktop displays. I experienced the buzzing in Vista and now in Win7 is the same.
