A rep told me 15.4" models will likely not ship before the end of the month. You'll probably be able to pre-order one with x700 by middle of the month, but at this point you can't really expect to have one in hand before early Dec.

well um, u can configure the ASUS Z70va, jsut like the Sony, plus the ASUS is thinner, im not sure about the dimensions of the Sony BX series.. but yah, the BX series created alot of hype with those X700... but after seeing that the 14" was too expensive and THICK, 1.4/1.5".... come one... Sony, Sony style... thats doesn't even fit in man.

As for the the Sony BX series.. was a big hype and dissapointment in my opinion...

As for 14" Screen get an ASUS W3V, or possibly the Sony BX540 if you don't like widescreen and wanan have a better vid card.

As for the 15.4" screens.. the Sony BX one is a disspointment... you'll be better off with an Z70va for all reasons.

As for 17" screens, look to Dell, HP, ASUS, they over a much better range of 17's...

Anyways.. the only thing Sony gots going for them in MOST cases is their screens.. but yah.. are you really gonna pay like 2-300 more for a better screen, that is more thicker and slighlyhave bigger dimensions?
(this is not directed to you only.... to all people considering the 15.4 BX WHY NOT GET An ASUS Z70va?)

(I personaly was thinking about getting an 14" BX, but will likely not... due to price, and thickness)

    Thanks,

    MysticGolem

i wouldn't trust Cnet for being the end all be all review man... especially with battery life.

THere are about 2 ways to increase battery life.

Undervolting, decreases heat and increases batterylife.

Also using a program like CHC or Everest or even Speedfan to give the user some more control. will also increase batterylife and give u some more control over cooling.

    Thanks,

Hm, Cnet is pretty ameteur when it comes to reviews! :

"Our VAIO VGN-BX541B's 14.1-inch (diagonal) display had a 1,024x768 native resolution that gave us some serious screen real estate"

    LOL! :p

We do the best reviews here at NBR :D
