I am writing to get some info about a docking station for the Vaio C-Series. My daughter is a student in the Caribbean and has a VGN-C190G laptop. The case has gotten broken around the DC-in jack where the power supply plugs in. As a result, you cannot plug in the power supply to charge the battery. Unfortunately, there is nowhere locally on the island to get it repaired. Right now, she and her roomate ( both have C190's) are swapping batteries so that the roomate's PC is doing all of the charging. Since she uses this computer daily in her studies, it would create a great hardship for her to ship it back to me to have it repaired here in the United States. My question is, "Will the power supply charge the C-Series battery through the docking station?" My thought is that plugging the power supply into the docking station would bypass the DC-in jack on the side of the laptop and allow the battery to charge. I have located a docking station here that I can ship to her. That way she would not be without her computer. This would temporarily solve her problem. Meanwhile, I can try to track down a bottom case and replacement jack for her to have it properly repaired when she returns to the U.S. next Spring. Any info about this is greatly appreciated.

Since no one else replied. I'll reply to my own post to inform any others that may have the same question. YES, the battery does charge through the docking station. I went ahead and purchased the docking station and sent it to my daughter. She tried it out and this will resolve her problem until she returns to the United States and can have her Vaio repaired. (If she chooses to do so). Quite a bit less expensive, too. I purchased the station, NEW, on eBay for about $35. The least I've found a bottom case is about $200.
