    Is my cpu running correctly, its a 1.83 duo core and it says 980mhz y is that?

    If you go into the Vaio power management tool, it is set by default to "adaptive." I think that means it clocks up or down according to need but I could be wrong. There is setting in there for "performance" which might keep your CPU running at full tilt all the time.
