Hello, new poster here. I tried searching every which way I could think and I kept getting the same threads over and over. I cant find anything on my model, just the other Sony's.
I have a CR410E with the Intel graphics chip. Vista 32bit if it matters.
Is there a way to change the external monitor max resolution? The most I can get is 1280 x 800. I can understand that for my 14" laptop screen, but on my 19" Acer or 22" Hanns monitor it looks horrible! Native is 1440 x 900 on the Acer or 1680 x 1050 on the Hanns.
According to Intel's site, the chip can easily display any of those and many more resolutions. I cant figure out how to increase the resolution.
I like my 14" screen for a laptop, but when I am home I would love to be able to use one of my big externals.
Thanks for any help.

Well, I found my answer finally after contacting Sony yet again... They crippled the computer!!! What kind of crap is that? They will not let the computer output any more than 1280 x 800 which is what the native screen res is on the laptop.
According to Intel's site the GMA 965 chipset this comp has will easily do HD output and more. I tried to install their drivers, but the laptop wont let me. It says something about not approved by manufacturer or something like that and to contact Sony!!
So, is there any way at all around this?!? The Sony "sales" rep I bought the comptuer from told me that it would work fine. Unfortunately I am well past my return date since I use this laptop a lot on the road and school. I just want to use something bigger than my 14" screen when I am home. -
anyone?? Am I the only one trying to run a decent external monitor on a Intel 965 chip Sony?
CR series max external monitor resolution?
