    CR Configuration:

    Intel® Core 2™ Duo Processor T9300 (2.5GHz)

Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium with Service Pack 1

Matte Black with Biometric Fingerprint Sensor

    4 GB DDR-SDRAM (DDR2-667, 2 GBx2)

320 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [5400 rpm]

LCD 14.1" WXGA+ (XBRITE-ECO™) with integrated video camera

    Extended Battery (BPL9)

    TOTAL: 1499.99

    SR Configuration:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz)

Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium with Service Pack 1

    4 GB DDR2-SDRAM (DDR2-800, 2GBx2)

320 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [5400 rpm]

13.3" WXGA (XBRITE-ECO™ technology) LED Screen

    ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3470

    Large Capacity Lithium-ion Battery (BPL13)

    TOTAL: 1948.99

so they have the same RAM amount (but SR is ddr2 800, while CR is ddr2 677)

the CR has a weaker graphics card...

    CR is not LED

    CR is heavier and thicker

Is montevina that much better? would a T9300 at 2.5 GHZ be better than a P8600 at 2.4 GHZ???

I cannot think of anything else that makes it worth 450 price diff... What do you guys think? is it worth it? please convince me! I'm kinda tight on cash, but I do have enough to buy either one...

i guess im just not confident in my decisions... i need re-assurance.. THANKS!

Get the SR with montevina (Centrino 2)

And you r all set in stone of getting the SR so why bother posting both specs?

Go SR because of the differences you mentioned. SR has a sleeker design, more powerful, ATi graphics will blow the Cr's graphics out of the water, weighs much less, quieter keyboard, quieter running w/ new montevina chips.

I was deciding the same and sprung for the sr. Good luck on your decision. :)

2.4 is a better buy, but if you have the money the 2.53 will be faster but unless you do 3dmarks etc. you will not notice the difference.

    There's your $450. ;)

How much do you care about these items? Not at all? Go with the CR. More than a little? SR.

Better question: if you buy the CR, will you always wonder about the SR and secretly wish you had bought it? Or will you be perfectly fine with the CR and never look back?

I would probably think about it, no doubt! I was up ALL NIGHT yesterday waiting for the damn thing to release...first time iv'e ever done that for any product! so i guess its got a special place in memory too :p

also.. i prob. will regret it when I see a SR on display in store...

besides.. isnt an LED upgrade usually 100 bucks on other sites like dell?? as well as GPU upgrades like 100 bucks?? so thats 200.. the other 100 maybe from slightly better ram and new intel chip... so BOTTOM LINE....

100 BUCKS i'd be paying simply for improved design..WHICH AGAIN...is lighter, smaller, ect... plus better overall battery life

    AHHH WTF! SR! SR!

hOPEfully this helps others make a desicion as well.

Yup... $150, in fact. Do yourself a favor and stop torturing yourself and just ordering the thing ;).
