When I'm typing my hands generally rest on the silver part in the front of the laptop, but every now and then it starts feeling like it's shocking me (not a strong shock of course). It's enough to cause discomfort.

Just wondering if any other CR120 users have felt this, or is it just me doing something? I don't really understand how it can be shocking me

I heard about this before and thats the reason why Sony changed the material that the palmrests are made of. I think it is a serious issue and you should contact Sony technical support about it.

Well, the most of it's plastic, but there is a metal thing going along the outside. It looks nice, but yea, it is annoying. I would contact Sony and go through all that mess, but I'm lazy. Unless of course there would be some incentive? I really don't see what they could do short of giving me a new laptop, and since this one is brand new...

I thought I read in another thread that Sony will give you a grounded plug for your power supply that supposedly fixes the problem (three pronged instead of two).

Personally, I don't understand why all VAIOs don't ship with grounded plugs.

I don't understand either. It would save Sony money on shipping (sending original back, shipping out new one) and people won't think their laptops are out to kill them.

If a 3-pronged plug will solve this issue then the most that will happen is that they will ship one out to you, or they will ask you to ship the one you have now and then send you the replacement when they get the old one back.

Maybe I will call them up then, if all I need is a new cable.

Mine doesn't shock me. But it's a CR190, so maybe that makes a difference. Two-pronged charger, notwithstanding.
