Title says it all. Some forums say to use the XP driver (doesn't work). Someone linked me to the same webcam but an HP driver (didn't work).
Is there any way to get the R5U870 webcam in this laptop to work with 7 64bit?

Try these two files, you can get them from the sonny esupport site:
Sony eSupport - VGN-CR220E - Software Updates & Drivers
Sony eSupport - VGN-CR220E - Software Updates & Drivers
Hope it works! -
Actually no, I did try both and those didn't work.
I got it to work by installing drivers for a different Sony model that had the same webcam (found via hardware ID) from Sony's FTP site; it wasn't listed on their support pages! -
Seems weird, when I upgraded mine, I used the ones they have and gave me 0 probs...funny...
Anyways good to see that it works now... -
Did you try the original camera driver here? Sony eSupport - VGN-CR220E - Software Updates & Drivers

Hey, I'm having the same problem. I have just updated. Can you tell me what driver for what model you used? My camera isn't working. Thanks So Much!

Never mind. I got the camera working by installing Original Sony Notebook Utilities from Sony eSupport Driver site. Hope that helps someone out their with frustration.
CR220E + Windows 7 64bit = = no webcam driver :(
