    From power-off>press AV MODE button>comes up with a,I believe,a DOS screen(black) saying: "Application not found-reload appl..." .
I assume  this is a SONY Application, but, at the Sony esupport site I have not found the related/worded software that indicates it's for the AV mode. Any assistance will be appreciated. :).
(NOTE:Win7 UG was installed when I received computer so I don't know status prior to install-I assume it was working(?) No response from prior owner)

Welcome to NBR - The AV button should bring up Windows Media Center - try this - go to Vaio Control Center - Special Buttons - Vaio Launcher Settings - Advanced and locate Windows Media Center - that should solve it. If not may need to load some of the Sony Drivers. Do you other special buttons and functions work (i.e. on screen displays for volume etc)?
