I purchased a CS series yesterday and am sort of curious to which part tends to wear out or break first. Are there any common problems I should look out for on these models? Thanks! So far I'm loving this sexy machine.

that's good to hear. I was mainly curious because I know like, for example, my macbook had a known issue with the case cracking in areas and even like the newer macbook pros having GPU issues.

just thought I'd see if there was a general consensus.

now that i think about it, maybe I'm concerned about the strength of the AC jack on this thing. anyone break theirs early?

I'm not worried about this actually, all other laptops (like my Toshiba Satellite) had a very bad straight-type connector which would pull the power thingy right off; this one swivels so there is almost no tension.

However, my neat stroke the back of the screen and the colored light goes on thingy just died :( just when my 30 day return expired too!

This is by far the #1 problem with any older than 2 year laptop, for any brand. I visited the Geek Squad head quarters last year in Louisville KY and more than half the laptops that come in for repair (hundreds a day) have a loose AC jack and won't charge. Moral of the story, be careful yanking the cord in and out. And if it breaks, it's actually a $10 fix and don't send it to Geek Squad (though they'll happily take your $100 for doing so).

thanks. if something does happen, will this be something that a small shop can take care of quickly and for less money? I'd rather have a shop do it (but not geek squad).

does anyone know if these jacks are soldered directly onto the board? thanks.
