Well, I got my FW just this past Tuesday, and even though everything else is really great, I will say that I seem to have the same issue as this video mentioned below by mg48 shows. *sigh* :(

It wasn't something I noticed straight off. But as I was inspecting every nook and cranny I noticed that when I held the keyboard at eye level that there was.....an 'inconsistancy' about an inch below the 'Ctrl' key on the right side. It looks to be a mere ghost of dent and then right below that on the wristpad platform a very slight hump (wave?). I can press on it and it goes down slightly before it meets the resistance of whatever is inside just below. If I take the side of my finger and lightly tap on the areas surrounding the keyboard, I get a more hollow sound in this area. In addition to this (if I want to REALLY be nitpicky) there also seems to be an area that rises slightly surrounding the 'D' key.

I don't know if I feel better or worse having just seen this video. At first I just figured that QC wasn't so great on my computer. But I can most definitely do what he does in the video. I have an FW190 CTO. What really worries me is that maybe I got a return? I placed my order through SonyStyle on 8/22, but the manufactured date on the bottom states 'MFD - 8/8' ??? Could that be possible?? Shouldn't that sticker be dated *after* I placed my order?

I feel like running over to Best Buy now and checking out their floor models now. I'm worried that those models won't have the problem that my $1300 unit from SonyStyle does.....and that would really stink. Like I said above, all else is grand with my system. I adore the HiColor screen (no dead pixels or uneven lighting!) and have '0' other complaints. If this is the only thing I have to deal with I should be o.k. with it, right? This seems to be just cosmetic and isn't something that would ever affect system performance or heating? I hate think that I could go through the process of returning and getting a new one, only to find something infinitely more annoying....(like a screen issue).

What is everyone's opinion? Thanks in advance :)

Finally got to check this, and no, on my FW190, there is no hump, and I certainly don't see a flex when I push the palm rest area, and I'm applying an awful lot of pressure.

My manu date shows 8/8 as well on the bottom. Sorry I can't help.
