Hi everyone... i just wanted to know if anyone has heard something about the refresh for the C series that was supposed to come along with the CR series: the CZ series. I've searched in other forums, and no one is talking about it. I want a notebook for college, and i really like the 13.3 form factor. i was considering the CR, but i think it's too big and thick. So i was expecting the CZ to come out sometime this month, hoping they would be thinner and smaller, and therefore more portable. Is it likely for the Cz to come anytime soon, or not ? I don't want to wait forever, i hate waiting. I just gave up on the santa rosa macbook, that i thought would come this summer. And now there are more rumors for one coming in september/october. I just want something nice and portable under $1500. The Cz sounded like it.

The original Sony VGN-C series is the best notebook in terms of quality that sony has out right now.

Says the CZ will be 5lbs. Probably will still be thick. -
The only thing keeping me from considering one was the integrated graphics. The "Z" suggests that dedicated graphics should at least be optional, correct? If so these could be a smash hit....affordable 13.3 with dedicated graphics and Sony style. -
So is the CZ supposed to be a smaller, more portable CR?
-
I'm guessing it will be a Santa Rosa updated C with dedicated graphics option.

Well, it must not be aimed towards college-bound buyers. The market window for that is closing fast.

I'm hoping that these will come out soon. I really liked the C series, but I wanted something with Santa Rosa. It will be interesting to compare the CR and CZ, but it is getting a little late in the summer for those of us who are looking for school computers. I'd rather have a 13" screen, but I'm going to have to make a decision soon.

I actually really liked the FE series - although I like the newer scheme of the gunmetal silver vs the older bleach white / black. If they could only somehow make it better (/cough LED backlit /cough Geforce 8 series)... so very thin yet so nice at the same time.

As of today, a CR ordered will ship on August 7th, so you should make your decision sooner than I think you realize.

I'm beginning to think that the CZ are NOT coming. Maybe Sony replaced the C series, with the CR, rather than present it as an addition to their VAIO line. What could the CZ feature for it to be worth being released? what type of keyboard, graphics processor, etc. It doesn't make sense to make a slightly smaller CR, does it?
CZ series?
