    Hi Guys!

I am excited the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops tomorrow. How well will Sony Z series laptop handle CoD:Black Op? If anybody purchase or pre-order this game and had it install mind sharing what setting are you on and how is the FPS! if possible place your GPU temperature too.

    Cheers Guys :)

The game releases in less than 16 hours and your asking for what? Go buy it at midnight and play it. Look for performance close to MW2. Z owners will be playing it at medium settings I am guessing, depending on how many graphic settings there are to tinker with. I wouldn't expect terrible performance like Metro2033 or BF BC2 on the Z.

Here are the minimum requirements for Black Ops:
    • OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7
    • CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better
    • RAM: 2GB
    • HDD: 12GB of free space
    • VIDEO: Shader 3.0 or better; 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT DirectX 9.0c or better
    • SOUND: DirectX 9.0c-compatible
    • DirectX: 9.0c

Hey there, I am sorry about before, didn't notice you are in UK. Does it release tomorrow there too? I do not run MW2 on my VPC-Z11, nor any first person shooter...yet. I only been playing SC2 really...waiting for Diablo 3 and Star Wars Old Republic. Got a nice gaming rig for everything else.

To be honest, I really liked how Treyarch shaders and textures looked in World at War, and I am liking the screenshots and trailers for Black Ops. I am hoping for a greatly optimized game. Unlike Medal of Honor...won't go there.

I am picking my copy up at midnight tonight. I am going to install on my Z first. Will update you on how it runs. But really, if it releases midnight in the UK, you will get it first...so update me

COD MW2 runs great on the Z Maxed out. I only run at 2X AA tho, because it can sstudder from time to time.

I have my copy of Call Of Duty Black OP's preloaded through steam, so I will report back 1:00am Arizona time.

To be honest, I have not run world at war on my Z. WaW was much harder on systems than MW2. I hear that Black OP's is just an optimized engine of what WaW was running on. Expect to ditch shaders and AA. I am hoping for the best.

Thanks. Hope you enjoy the great game. Im just worry that Blackops will stress Gt330 and I have to play in Lower setting which spoils the game :) Looking forward to it.

P.S: Im rushing for this game tonigh too. Even I said the last post I got no time. But still my heart is raging to get this game XD

Just wanted to update you. I got the game and installed it. Didn't know it was a Steam game and was getting stupid install error. Basically, had to re-enable Application Experience service, reboot into safe mode with network, and fix corrupt Steam install. Lame.

However, it was worth it..just finished killing some zombies, lol. With everything maxed and 2x AA, my CPU never went above 81 C and GPU never went above 79 C.

What resolution your running? My temperature was maybe around 81-83 overclocked GPU. Did you max out texture and sharders? If i max out I will be lagged.

Mine sharing what is your setting?

    Thanks

    1600x900

Everything maxed except for Bodies at Medium, and 2x AA

I will do a FPS count with a screenshot later tonight, sorry.

I will tell you I think it looks better than MoH and MW2...

    Maybe I can help...

The game has launched with many bugs and getting this to run on my VPCZ1 (i7) wasn't smooth at all. I've lowered the setting to medium, resolution at native 1080 but it chugs a bit.

This isnt related to the Vaio but the game itself. It should receive some proper patches by the end of the month latest.
