Hi everyone![]()
The basic idea behind this thread is getting the owners of Vaio FW to rate their notebooks, so that the future buyers (including myself) will know if it's a worthy purchase.
So, if you could please take the time to rate the following, on a scale from 1 to 5 (I've written some guidelines for 5, 3 and 1):
[NOTEBOOK]
Model/configuration:
[model]
[CPU]
[RAM]
[GPU]
[display]
[HDD]
[disc drive]
[OS]
[anything else you think should be included]

3 - Pretty good for a laptop.
2

- Speakers:

WOULD YOU BUY THE FW AGAIN? If they had a better graphics card.
The reason i said about sony support: I purchased my FW 2 weeks before they introduced the new ones, first off they never told me there was a new one coming out, they could have at least hinted. Second i called them up nicely and just asked if i could get the free windows 7 upgrade like the FW's just released, i told them i could return it but i didn't want to because i already had tons of applications and data, all i wanted was a free upgrade. They said no and i told them i would return it but they still didn't care, So unfortunately i will not receive the free windows 7 upgrade, i don't feel like going through the hassle of returning it and reinstalling everything for a $50 upgrade. -
I just purchased my new FW465J so I cant give it a fair assesment yet. But one thing I notice was the touchpad clicking was loud. My AW touchpad was a little more quieter than this one..

WOULD YOU BUY THE FW AGAIN: Yes I would, but I would want Sony to redesign the barrels on the side and make it more along the lines of the z and SR. Plus a much better video card which should have been added at the start of production, not during the refresh ffs.
Love the hdmi out, I use it all the time with my hdtv to watch movies. -

Instead of 'calling all FW owners'.... why not name your thread something that matches your objective?
Please rate your Sony FW for future owners -
-
I'm glad to see all your ratings
Keep them coming!
Looks like all of you don't like the FW's gaming performance. How about the 4-series users? I'm quite sure the HD4650 should be good enough for moderate gaming, but I'll be happy to hear your opinions. -
