Those of you who recently made a purchase/are considering a purchase have surely noticed Sony's current Campus Value Package deal. With the purchase of an extended warranty and two accessories, you save $300. If you go for the 3 year extended warranty without accidental damage protection ($199), this essentially means that you have $100 savings (total) on two accessories of your choice.

I don't know if it's clear to everyone, but you can use items that aren't in the "Accessorize" section of the CTO process towards this requirement by adding items from the Computers -> Accessories & Extras section.

So my question to you is simply: Which accessories did you/will you/would you choose? :D I'm conflicted. Most of the bags and cases available are overpriced and pretty ugly. I thought about the "stick" power adapter, but that seems a little unnecessary. Right now I have a Bluetooth mouse and the Wireless-N router (I need one anyway) in my cart, but I've changed it around many, many times.

So let me know what you guys like.

I chose the 2 cheapest ones. The VGP AMC1 neoprene case for like $8? and Vaio USB mouse for like $6? I don't remember the exact amount, but I also got the 2 year ADH so combined, it was less then $100, giving me extra discount to cover all the taxes and some of the notebook.

Hmmm, interesting. That was the first thing I tried, but it didn't work. When the price of my extended warranty + two accessories was less than $300, the promotional discount that was taken off my total was the same amount (i.e. less than $300).

I don't know if this is something that they've changed since you ordered, but it seems that the discount must go towards the price of the warranty and accessories, not the computer itself.

It depends on which notebook you order:

see the pictures I've attached, this was just a quick add to cart thing I did, but not my actual order, you can see the discounted items and savings I took and see how it discounted the tax, notebook, and the accessories

Why would you get a neoprene case if you don't need it? Doesn't make sense. Get a Sony privacy filter (great for plane rides and nosy people) or an extra charger (very handy if you use your laptop at work and at home, I hate coiling and lugging the charger along).

A very crappy generic privacy filter by 3M will still cost you 50 bucks and you need to tape it on the screen. The custom-fit (no taping needed) Sony filter is a good deal, and it has much better visibility than the 3M one. I practically leave it on all the time.

I'd get the docking station (one of the main reasons I want a Z), and the neoprene case.

I personally wouldn't recommend a privacy filter. They (purposefully) reduce the viewing angles to virtually nothing. Unless you genuinely have a reason for one - like regularly flying on planes and working with confidential data - you might find the reduced viewing angle a problem.
