    Can I buy a warranty from Provantage?

    I was thinking of picking up an SR or Z and was wondering if the sony warranties that you can buy at provantage can be applied to these notebooks. It doesn't seem like there is any provision. I called Provantage and spoke to Sony over their online chat but they were unsure.

    Has anyone else purchased one of these warranties for their SZ or Z series? If so, how did it work.

    I have purchased through them and the activation process went fine. Everything is the same as if you bought it directly from sony.

    Gentlemen, thank you, I appreciate it. I noticed that the warranty (ADH) (in the contract) only covers up to the cost of the machine. Does this mean if I buy the machine for 1500 bucks, once they repair up to 1500 bucks worth of stuff my warranty ends? This is unlike other ADH warranties from other computer companies.

    Also, is the same true for the non-accidental dmg?

    And last question, what is the process for ordering one of these things, Do I order my sony, then order the warranty after I receive it or order them both at the same time.

    As for how much they will fix I am not sure of. What i do know is that you have up to 30 days to buy the warranty and register it. So you would buy the laptop then get it from provantage or wherever. After you receive it you register.
