I'm trying to run Windows 8 in VirtualBox and I'm told that I need to enable VT in the BIOS. I'm running the most up to date BIOS but do not see the option to enable VT anywhere. I have also read that this has been disabled by Sony but some older threads (2009) seem to indicate that the problem has been resolved.

Can anyone confirm whether or not VT is possible on a VAIO SE laptop?

This thread discusses BIOS hack that gives you access to hidden options. As always, you are on your own if something goes bad.

I am running VirtualBox on SE and Windows 2000 server, FreeBSD, and older Ubuntu as guests. Have not tried Windows 8 but I was running Windows 7 Pro as a guest about a month ago. CPU virtualization options are accessible in hacked BIOS.
