    Ok so I got this sony laptop 2 months ago it has a i5 2410m and I like to upgrade it to a i7 2670qm on cpu world I found out that my socket supports the cpu.Is it possible to upgrade or have sony done something to prevent you from upgrading?

    Double - check whether it is soldered or socketed. Not worth the trouble if soldered.

    As well check if the firmware for your machine has the microcode for the processor implemented.
