    Can I use the Y charger for the Z series?

    Its so much smaller (the charger which came with my wife's Sony Y) and it says 19.5v output, which is the same as the output on the charger which came with the Z (but the Z's charger is much bigger and heavier)

    Voltage is ok, but what is the current? To operarte safely (prevent overheating of the power supply when the computer draws much power) it should be 4,7 amps (90 watts) as well. I guess it is something like 60 watts, which will definitely be NOT enough.

    Be warned that if you overload the A/C converter, it may end up in smoke.

    If you want a tinyer one, go for the coolermaster USNA 95. There is a thread about those tiny power supplies.

    Actually I bought the Targus one, which can also do a blackberry or ipod at the same time, and came with the cig lighter attachment which cna be used on many airlines..
    I will stay away from my wife's charger,,, thx
