Hi, I need a new adaptor and it is not avaialble in Canada, so I'm going to order from the US. I get conflicting information on compatibilty from different websites, so i guess the best and only sure fire way is to read it directly off the box, which I do not have access to here. So, I was wondering, if anyone is near a Sonystyle store in the US, or another store that would sell these two adaptors, if they could look at the boxes and read off what the box says are compatible laptop models and post that info here of what the box says are the compatible laptop models that would be great. Not just for me, but it would be useful information to have out there. The two adaptors I am looking at are:

    VGP-AC19V31

    VGP-AC19V32

    Thank you!

You only need to be careful about the "19V" thing, which means your laptop needs 19V input. Almost all sony vaio adapters have this volatege, only TT/TZ and P, have lower voltages. My guess would be to go for the AW serie adapter, because it can handle the highest power too and it will heat less, compare to the one for Z, which is smaller, but cant handle so much power.

I know about the voltage thing and all. But I would still like to know what Sony officially says before I pull the trigger on an expensive adaptor. And no, the Sonystyle website does not count, so many innaccuracies, the box is probably the only sure fire way to know Sony's official stance.

Might be wiser if you also tell which model you have, laptop, perhaps somebody is here that bought it lately and can check its adapter.

going other way around is a bit...confusing :)
