    Hi. I've got a Vaio C1S and the CPU inside is a 1.66 Core2Duo (T5500).

I've heard of people upgrading these ot T7200, T7400 and T7600, but never on a vaio. Anyone done this and know if the Bios is compatible?

I've upgraded everything else to its limits (2Gb ram, 7200rpm hard disk, downgrade to xp).

Apart from the graphics which i don't need to be good, the CPU is the bottleneck at the moment i think and don't want to buy a whole new laptop just for that.

Just find any T series core2duo processor probably at 2Ghz-2.4GHz and that will work.
