    Hi All,

I've a SZ1 vaio laptop that I bought April 2006 that runs 2GB Ram. I'm thinking of upgrading it to 3GB ram.

Will the BIOS accept it? What 2GB Ram module should I buy?

    Thanks

If your machine is like my SZ160, which I believe it is, then 2GB of RAM is maximum.

Most Manufacturers always say 2gb (Max), but accepts 3gb. My dell is an example.

But you are saying that it'll not take 3gb ram regardless?

Not that I know of, but I never knew some machines would take 3GB RAM when they said 2GB was maximum. Sony says 2GB is max so that is all I know!...maybe someone on here can tell you more.
