I was wondering if anyone know Seagate Serial ATA hd will work on my VGN-S270P? I think my current drive is a IDE connection, (Toshiba 60 gig 4200rpm) but want to know if I can upgrade to this? if it helps, I also have the centrino 855pm chipset.

No, you can't upgrade to a SATA drive - you'll have to stick with an Ultra ATA/100.
You can get UATA 120GB 5.4kRPM drives - here is a Segate Momentus at Newegg.com.
