    Can you downgrade from Windows 7 to XP on a Sony Vaio VPCEG1BFX/W? I already have an XP disc. Does anyone know?

    no, many drivers are not written for xp you would need. ( audio, chipset, card reader, video and i believe both lan and wlan )

    Short answer: no.

    It seems Sony doesn't officially support XP on that laptop. See:

    So there might not be drivers for certain things. You can probably make it semi-work, but it'll be messy. You'd have to reinstall XP from scratch in either case.
