Has anyone tried to install Media Center on the Sony A-series yet (a190, a290)? I want to know if this is possible, because I heard the sony media software isn't as good as MCE.

MCE isn't all that from what I have read about it and MCE requires that you use a USB IR Sensor to get their remote to work. I'll stick with the Sony equipment.

I have MCE on my Toshiba 5205-s705 laptop and I got rid of the standard IR remote. I use the ATI AIW remote with it, because it uses RF instead. It works fine with it. You don't have to stick with their remotes.
