I am thinking about purchasing a Z540NFB. According to published specs, the Z540 can only take 4GB RAM. But according to this thread, it can (with a 64-bit operating system) run 8GB. I know that 8GB of RAM are expensive and all that. All I’m wondering is: does anyone know, for a fact, whether the Z540 can in fact make use of 8GB of RAM? If so, is the Vaio Z500-series the oldest series of Vaio Zs that can utilize 8GB of RAM? Thank you in advance for your comments.
