    Hi all,
I just installed Win7, sticking as much as possible to this method:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=355715

everything's working, all FN keys, volume multimedia zoom LCD out,
    all but brightness.

problem is, using the FN keys, the brightness dialog is showing, but I can't increase or decrease it.
brightness does not show up on power managment nor on mobilty center.
the power plans from vaio ("VAIO optimized") are showing, but still if I pull
the plug screen stays on maximum brightness...

what am I missing here guys? PLZ HELP  :(

According to my experience, this is duo to driver issue...I have SZ with dual graphichs: Intel and Nvidia... Intel works flawless, but I have problems with nvidia.

Try to experience with multiple driver version and maybe you get it to work with some driver version, untill we get an official relese from sony.

what do you mean by multiple driver version?...

and I don't think I have dual graphics, as far as I know I have nVidia only...

yea, I can't change the brightness of my screen using the Fn buttons on my Vaio Z when I switch to nvidia graphics. It must be something to do with the nvidia drivers we have now and Win 7. We'll see this issue gets fixed when Win 7 retails and sony releases more Win 7 drivers.

    hi
    thanks i'll try this one,
    I have Nvidia 9300M GS,
but do you think the brightness issues are caused by the graphics card?..

ok well unfortunately this didn't work...

i tried my original driver from sony, which did work partly-

the issue seem to be resolved and i can adjust the brightness (both from keys and from control panel), however once i close the lid, or whenever the display turns off, once i turn it on the same problem occurs- i cannot adjust the brightness in anyway- not thru the FN keys, nor thru control panel!..
this is driving me crazy anyone has any idea?..

I also have the Vaio CS and I'm having problem with the brightness Fn keys, have you resolved it?

I also followed the guide in your first post but I can't make the volume SLIDER and the multimedia buttons to work. What did you do to make the play, rewind, fast forward, and volume slider to work?
