I recently bought a bluetooth microsoft mouse for my Sony Vaio and I can't get it working. It's my first experience with bluetooth peripherals, so I presume I'm doing something wrong. Could anyone help me out?

I followed the setup instructions with the mouse, and it didn't work. I tried the Vaio manual, but that didn't help very much either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

See my signature... maybe I can help you.
First install or maybe you have already installed the latest update for Bluetooth: Sony eSupport - VPCF115FM - Software Updates & Drivers
Do you VAIO Smart Network installed?
    If yes, is Bluetooth on?
    Now turn the mouse on.
Press and hold the connect button on the underside of the mouse until the light on the top of the mouse flashes.
You will get a popup message on your VAIO for connecting a Bluetooth device. If asked fill the key 0000
I hope this helps if not let me know what happens and or what does not happen.

Thanks for the help, but I'm still having problems.

Yes, I have the Vaio Smart Network installed and Bluetooth is on.

When I try to install the software update, I get an error message saying that "The DFU Wizard did not detect a matching Bluetooth Device for the DFU image file you selected, please make sure you plug in the correct Bluetooth device and select correct DFU file then click Next to continue." I don't know what this is and, how do I plug in a Bluetooth device?

When I turn on the mouse and press the connect button, the laptop doesn't seem to recognize it, as it just sits there. If I press the "Bluetooth Devices" hyperlink from the SmartWi Connection Utility, it doesn't link me to anything, which seems strange.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Researching this further, I found on Sony's website that I could look in the Device Manager to ensure the software update you link to was installed properly. This told me to look at the Bluetooth Radio in the Device Manager. The problem is, I don't see anything referencing Bluetooth in the Device Manager or Control Panel.

    Could this be the problem?
