    Hello,

I have been looking at MB's lately and had made up my mind, but I love Sony's and can get a lot more for the same price as a black Macbook.

What made me change my mind is that I do like to play Games!!!

I am going to community college first and will have some time on my hands to play games like Battlefield II.

I know the MBP has a 8600 GT, but it is so expensive that it's out of the question.

What Sony besides the AR which I think has the 8600 has adequate graphics to game???

sony FZ has an 8400M GT, even the sony sz has the 8400m gs

the 8400m gs will even play every game out today, on low-medium settings (depending on the game).

as far as games today, any of the 8XXX series will play it, but playing on high settings is when things are completely different....and future games also, who knows

i think if you want something close to that of a mpb you should get the fz with blu-ray etc

I like Sony notebooks, but I think the only thing the FZ has going for it is the Blu-Ray drive. If I had a choice between a FZ and a Macbook Pro, I would take the Macbook Pro.

you can put bluray in the sony sz, it might not fit perfectly, but will but be just fine and work 100% :)

and your comparing a 13.3" portable to a 15.4/17" DTR. the sony will be superior in battery life and def weight. and the macbook is better for gaming

besides gaming, theres really no difference, besides the OS also obviously

you basically need to decide if you want a portable or a dtr - in terms of performance, only gaming is a real differnece. everything else can be the same.
