    Can't install Vaio Event Service

    Has anyone installed the newest VAIO Event Service from the following link http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNFW390&upd_id=4476&os_id=29 ?

    I tried it and I got an error message that said "Previous Vaio Event Service is not intalled. Upgrade will be cancelled." I already have previous Vaio Event Service from previous installation.

    The software should work with any VAIO Notebooks, not just FW. If anyone could try it I really appreciate it and please mention which VAIO Model you have.

    You can try this: extract files using universal extractor (e_wise unpacker option). You will get a file called EP0000170652.exe
    You can either run it, or un-rar it into a folder and run setup.exe.

    That's what I did. The problem is not with the VAIO Model because it passed the model checker and if you look at install.ini, it will install with any VAIO.

    Never mind. The program needs VAIO Event Service ver 4.2. Mine is 4.0. That's why it won't install. So, I uninstalled VAIO Event Service from Control Panel, installed the latest VAIO Shared Library and VAIO Notebook Utilities which contains the latest VAIO Event Service before the update.

    Now it works. Thanks to those who tried.
