I have Sony VGN-AR170 laptop with Linux installed on it. What I want to do is get rid of Linux and install Windows XP on this laptop. However, when I insert the Windows installation CD and reboot the laptop, I get a message "set up didn't find any hard drives installed in your computer".

Somebody suggested to me to change to IDE in BIOS; however, I don't see such an option in BIOS.

    What can be done?
