I have Sony Vaio PCG-GRT 240G and I woke to find the CPU fan making noise. Shortly it quit altogether. I am trying to open the case but it seems like there is some inaccessable screw holding the thing together somewhere near the center of the space bar. I removed the space bar and the lower keys on the keyboard, but no dice. Anyone know how to open this sucker up? It is out of warranty.

I would take it to any local computer shop and have them open it...to be safe - considering the warranty period is over.

I've pulled apart a few sony's and never had a very easy time of it. Not sure on that model though. I'd just say to check trim pieces around the keyboard, if any of them can come off.
