This is frickin' ridiculous. I'm an expert computer user and am getting the following error when I go to the web page to register the laptop:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x578 Thread 0x620 DBC 0xc751ff4 Jet'.
/vaiowebreg2/script/reg.asp, line 164
This is a new computer. I shouldn't have to be editing the frickin' registry to use it...WTF
And the instructions at MS support don't fix the problem nor do they correspond with what is actually shown on the screen.

Wow, impressive...the reply from Sony Tech support just gave me the url for registering the product.
Apparently, their Indian tech support help must be just as bad as Dell's and they don't even bother to try to read or understand the problem.
I guess this is going back to CompUSA tomorrow. I should have known going with Sony and having a half assed install of windows xp would cause problems. -
Isn't there anyone else with this problem? I made the recovery discs and reinstalled the software and I still get that error when trying to register the notebook.
Can't register my S560PB
