Hi ,
I've just bought a Vaio X Series from the US and I'm currently using it in Italy.
Since I can't activate a Verizon subrscription I would like to activate at least my GPS device.I've tried to do as posted on this thread : http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/540326-how-enable-gps-your-vaio-vpcz-137gg.html but when I turn on the Location Service on the SmartWi Connection Utility application it just says " searching for GPS signal " and automatically turns on Verizon Wireless too . I've tried with another and it could not find any satellite.
What should I do?
Thanks.

You can download the OneClickInternet software and get another firmware for the Gobi2000 chip. Then you are getting the unlocked version of 3G-GPS. I personally just modded my X to get a simcard inserted and having the 3G activated without Verizon Wireless software. Let me know if something goes wrong.
